Apprentice User Experience (UX) Designer

Are you someone who’s curious about how people interact with digital products and love the idea of making things easier to use? Gamma is on the lookout for an Apprentice User Experience (UX) Designer who’s ready to enter the world of user research, interface design, and make a real impact across Gamma’s products. 

 

Main purpose of role: 

The main purpose of this apprentice position is to support the design of digital experiences across Gamma’s website, products, and services, making sure everything is easy and enjoyable for customers to use.  

You will get involved in the full design process – from researching how users interact with Gamma’s websites, to improving how pages are laid out. You’ll learn how to spot what’s working (and what’s not), then help create solutions that really make a difference. You’ll work on a wide variety of live projects across Gamma’s platforms, as well as speak to real customers and partners to understand their needs and feedback to improve their experience with Gamma’s services. 

The purpose of the apprentice position is to develop your skills over time until you are able to move into an experienced Junior User Experience (UX) Designer role. As an apprentice you will receive guidance and support from your manager and team to eventually become independent in your role. 

 

Key responsibilities: 

You will be taught everything you need to know, especially the technical knowledge, however, as an apprentice, you can expect to:  

• Support in researching how users find Gamma’s website and services to improve the design of the website and services. 
• Assist in translating business needs into user-friendly experiences. 
• Create wireframes, user flows, and journey maps with support from senior team members. 

 

Are you someone who: 

• Is curious about how people use websites and loves problem solving. 
• Has an interest in design and wants to learn how to create user-friendly products  
• Has a strong attention to detail. 
• Communicates well, knows when to ask for help, and enjoys working with different people and teams. 
• Is organised, open to feedback, and eager to keep learning and growing in a creative environment. 

To be successful in this role, you do not need any formal qualifications or experience. 

 

Skills you will learn: 

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, you will gain a diverse set of skills, including: 

• How to create simple designs and plans (like wireframes and user flows) to show how websites or apps should work. 
• How to gather feedback from users to figure out what’s working well and what needs improvement. 
• How to work with different teams (like developers and product managers) to turn ideas into usable, user-friendly designs. 
• How to stay organised, ask the right questions, and gradually build your skills with the support of experienced designers. 
• Knowledge of design software. 

 

Please note, you are unable to apply for this apprenticeship if you have attained a BSc (Hons) Digital User Experience (UX).
