The Event:
Carpmaels and Ransford are hosting a Black Heritage Student Insight Event for STEM students from all year groups – ranging from first years to those undertaking further study, including PhDs.
You will hear from a variety of people at different stages of their career journeys, receive helpful hints and tips for joining the profession and participate in practical activities which offer a taster of the day-to-day role. This offers an invaluable opportunity to explore the profession and discover more about life at the firm. The agenda for the day will involve:
- 13:00 – Student Arrival
- 13:20 – Welcome and overview of event
- 13:30 – Patents - what are they and why do we have them?
- 14:00 – Panel discussion and Q&A
- 14:45 – Break
- 15:10 – Interactive group workshop
- 16:40 – Career Insight & applications
- 17:10 – Closing remarks and networking
- 19:00 – Finish
Event attendees will also be offered the opportunity to undertake a pre-recorded trainee video interview and receive personalised feedback.
By completing the video interview, you will receive a useful insight into the types of questions that you will come across when applying for trainee patent attorney positions. For attendees who would like to be considered for Carpmaels’ 2024 trainee intake, this will also allow you to bypass the initial application stage of the process.
