Mitsubishi Power Europe (MPW-EUK) Component Repair Engineering (CRE) Team are looking for a flexible and forward-thinking candidate with an interest in developing a career within the energy industry. CRE supports the maintenance and repair activities of Steam and Gas Turbine components within the MPW-EUK regional fleet. CRE have a responsibility for managing the standard suite of authorised repairs but additionally have the authority to develop flexible and novel repair solutions for technical problems that often arise.
MPW-EUK are looking for a recent graduate or experienced engineer who wants an engineering career within a multi-national engineering organisation and will be based on a fixed term 2-year contract. The successful candidate will perform a 6-month rotation within the CRE Team which will enable them to gain skills and experience in a wide range of engineering activities. This role is designed to develop a solid foundation in all aspects of component repair with the ability to support multiple repair activities, across the EMEA region and will be based in our Leeds UK office.
Support the operation and maintenance of MPW-EUK Gas and Steam Gas Turbines including Accessory systems.
To develop a detailed understanding of high temperature components, their design, material composition, coatings and repair processes.
Perform quality control inspection checks and liaison visits to MPW repair vendor workshops.
To assist in the preparation of Gas and Steam Turbine technical repair procedures etc. following the instruction of the Engineering Manager or Engineering Director
To support creation of Request for Quotation and Purchase Specifications etc following the instruction of the Engineering Manager or Senior Director to Suppliers and partners.
Respond to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution, using technical product knowledge and analytical skills while adhering to sound engineering principles, standards, practices, procedures.
Escalate issues as required acting as the liaison between service delivery and design teams to drive technical resolution and to help engineering identify, drive corrective methodologies.
Establish and maintain relationships with repair centres and internal customers to ensure technical issues/requirements are understood and addressed in a timely manner
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
To support unplanned/forced outages to meet the Customer's needs
Provide commercial teams with technical support for sales and services proposal activities.
Act as interface between commercial, service and repairs.
You must have a Full Right to Work in the UK.
You must have a Full UK Driving License and access to a car as travel between sites may be required.
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree with Thermal Power bias
A strong theoretical knowledge of mechanical principles
Effective oral and written communication and organisational skills
Experience in CAD and ability to read and understand Technical Drawings
Good interpersonal skills and team-orientated approach
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with people with different cultures and nationalities.
Ability to produce accurately written and detailed technical reports in English
Good knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
