Who Are The Information & Technology Team
The Information & Technology team is responsible for designing, building, and supporting the systems and digital platforms used across the business.
Working in collaborative agile delivery teams, the technology function brings together developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions that support business operations and improve how the organisation works.
What Is The Role?
The technical analyst apprentice supports the technology function in delivering digital and data solutions across Canopius.
In this role, you will learn how to gather, understand, and document business and technical requirements that help Technology teams deliver solutions aligned with stakeholder needs. Working alongside experienced analysts, developers, and product teams, you will gain practical experience supporting technology delivery within an agile environment.
As part of the Canopius apprenticeship programme, you will “earn while you learn”, studying towards a nationally recognised qualification while developing hands-on experience in technology analysis, collaboration, and problem solving.
Responsibilities will include:
- Support the gathering and documentation of business and technical requirements with technology teams and business stakeholders.
- Assist in translating requirements into user stories, documentation, and acceptance criteria.
- Help maintain project and product documentation to support development and delivery teams.
- Participate in Agile team activities such as stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and sprint reviews.
- Assist with maintaining and organising product backlogs and tracking work items.
- Support collaboration between developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to help ensure shared understanding of requirements.
- Help review and validate that delivered solutions meet the agreed requirements.
- Assist with analysing data, processes, or system behaviour to support solution design.
- Support the investigation and documentation of technical or business issues.
- Contribute to team discussions and help identify opportunities to improve processes or ways of working.
What Will You Work Towards?
You will work towards an externally accredited Level 4 Business Analyst Apprenticeship (or a similar technical analysis pathway).
You will study for your apprenticeship with the support of a specialist training provider while gaining practical experience in your role. The apprenticeship combines structured learning with on-the-job experience to help you develop the knowledge and skills required for a career in technical analysis or technology delivery.
