Who Are The Delegated Authority Team?

The Delegated Authority team is responsible for overseeing arrangements where third-party organisations are authorised to carry out certain insurance activities on behalf of the business.

The team ensures that Delegated Claims Administrators operate effectively, meet regulatory requirements, and maintain high service standards. This includes monitoring performance, supporting audits and reviews, and working with internal teams to ensure appropriate oversight of delegated claims activity.

What Is The Role?

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Operations Apprentice to join the Delegated Authority Management team. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in delegated authority operations while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

As an apprentice, you will support the Delegated Claims Performance team, who are responsible for monitoring and improving the performance of Canopius' Delegated Claims Administrators (DCAs). You will assist with data management, referrals, and administrative activities that support the effective oversight of delegated claims operations.

You will also work closely with the wider Delegated Authority team, including colleagues involved in audit, assurance, and onboarding activities, while building relationships with stakeholders across the business.

During the apprenticeship, you will gain valuable experience within the insurance industry while developing professional skills that support a future career in operations, delegated authority, or broader insurance roles.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Support the Delegated Claims Performance team in monitoring and reviewing the performance of Delegated Claims Administrators (DCAs).
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to management information (MI) reviews, data management, and claims referrals.
  • Help maintain accurate records and documentation relating to delegated claims activity.
  • Assist in tracking and monitoring active and run-off DCAs to ensure records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Support communication and collaboration with teams across the business including Complaints, Underwriting, and Conduct.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for Delegated Authority team activities.
  • Assist in responding to ad hoc queries or information requests from internal stakeholders.
  • Develop an understanding of delegated authority processes, insurance operations, and regulatory expectations.

What Will You Work Towards?

You will work towards an externally accredited Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship (or relevant operations-focused apprenticeship qualification).

You will study for your apprenticeship with the support of a specialist training provider while gaining practical experience in your role. The apprenticeship combines structured learning with on-the-job experience to help you build the knowledge and skills required for a career in insurance operations.
